GEARING LARPERS SINCE 2013

HANDCRAFTED WITH PURPOSE

CRAFTED FOR QUALITY

High-carbon steel offers historical accuracy and durability, but it requires regular care to maintain its structural integrity and polish. Establishing a simple maintenance routine prevents surface corrosion and preserves the luster of your investment.

  1. Clean After Handling: Natural skin oils contain moisture and salt that trigger surface rust. Always wipe down steel components with a dry microfiber cloth immediately after handling or wearing.
  2. Apply a Protective Barrier: Never store bare steel exposed to air. Apply a light, even coat of mineral oil, gun oil, or specialized museum wax to create an airtight seal against ambient humidity.
  3. Manage Storage Environments: Store your gear in a climate-controlled space with low humidity. Avoid storing steel in sealed plastic bags or damp leather sheaths, as these trap moisture against the metal.
  4. Spot-Treating Surface Rust: If minor surface rust appears, gently buff it away using fine steel wool (0000 grade) saturated with oil, then reapply a protective wax layer to seal the area.
